A Little birdy ~ Mixed Media Card Challenge!

My best and craftiest friend from Texas came to visit for the weekend and we spent as much time as possible playing with paint and stencils and glitter and paper!
Here's a card I came up with for The Mixed Media Card Challenge which is Spring and the optional element ~ bird:
I used Dina Wakley paints applied with my hand for the BG.  I used stencils and paint for the compass, butterflies and dots.  The sheet music paper was torn and brushed with gesso.

I mixed paint with light molding paste and applied it through a stencil to make the outline of a bough (to reflect the sentiment).  I colored it in with my new Prima watercolor pencils.  They bird was colored with the pencils, too, by my sweet friend, Loretta! I told her I wanted it and took it from her, cut it out, and glued it to my card before she knew what was happening!  LOL!  I applied soft gloss gel to the bird and sprinkled glitter all over it!  (Click to enlarge it and see the glitter.)  So FAB in real life!  I also added a touch of pink to the butterflies to tie it all together.
I hope you like this card!

Here is a photo of me and Loretta out at dinner:
OMGosh we had so much FUN!  I hope she comes back to play with me again!

And Business news~ we opened our Senior Helpers office this past Monday, had our first client assessment at 10am, and signed up our first client!  Very exciting business-wise but even more exciting is that I feel like we are truly helping these people out!

That's all for now!
I miss you guys but will be back Saturday for my regular post for Saturday Creations!
