Welcome to my Saturday post

Hi there readers,

Good week? I made the mistake of e-mailing one of my pals (last weekend) to ask her that question and got the reply "I'm presently in Italy"!! Ooops, I didn't send back an apology for obvious reasons but .... I'M SORRY!

Apparently it's World Card Making Day today so, with that in mind, I've two makes to share with you today!

As I near the end of my 2017 Christmas card quota, a little early too - thank heavens, I've a NBUS make to share with you, NBUS? That's Never Before Used Stash (a phrase coined by Darnell)

My card
And a closer view to show the Twinkling H2O's

The front, back and inside of my card, along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card, cut to 13.7cm x 9.5cm
  • Artistic Stamper image - NBUS! (from Victorian Christmas) stamped using my MISTI and Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils  used to add a little colour
  • Twinkling H2O in icicle, mixed to a runny consistency and then "flicked" using the fan brush, to simulate snow on the card front
  • Hero Arts image stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink to the inside and reverse of the card and the envelope front - how handy that they are the same image?!??!!

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. The Holly and The Ivy - challenge No. 16 - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES
  2. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 138 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafting with Friends - challenge No. 52 - ANYTHING GOES

And now .. in the words of Monty Python .. for something completely different!

That scarfed chicken is hilarious and the colors you chose are wonderful. I really enjoyed the silhouette stamp you used on the first one too. Very nice effect. Thanks for joining us at Colour Crazy Challenge!

What a funny chicken, perfect for the ailing person to use with the chicken soup. Fun card. So glad you joined us at Morgan's ArtWorld.

That first card is wonderfully nostalgic and sweet, Kathy, puts me in mind of Mary Poppins (feed the birds, tuppence a bag!) ... and that cosy chicken is brilliant, she's fun, colourful and so deliciously quirky! Anita :)

Two great cards Kathy and love that quite vintage looking silhouette which works well for Christmas, and the the quirky fun chicken image is perfect with the'under the weather' sentiment and would certainly cheer someone up who isn't feeling at their best. x
