Welcome to Wednesday

Morning readers,

How's your week coming along? Mine's coming along great, I've been busy with the crochet hook again (trying to use  up oddments of wool I've had lying around for 15 years+) that, in conjunction with sunshine, has given my week a great start. I'll post a pic of the finished shawl at the bottom of this post ....

I pal sets a themed "challenge" on facebook each week, to encourage us to make Christmas cards. I use the word "challenge" loosely as there are no winners and no prizes it's just a place to show our pix and offer encouragement to others struggling to meet their "quota" - this weeks challenge was from the 12 Days of Christmas and is "3 French hens" - here's my take using THE most fabulous set of mini stamps from Penny Black - such fun.

My card
And a closer view of my 3 French Hens!

Delighted to have been picked as one of the TOP3 over at the Always Fun challenges, thanks peeps. Which card was it? Well, it was this one below ....

And now, as promised - my completed shawl, which I started on Friday March 9th and finished on Monday March 12th, I had the cream, purple and pink wool already in my knitting bag and bought two bags of 2 x 100g sparkly wool from Poundstretcher in order to finish it  My shawl measures 5' along each of the two shorter edges and is quite large enough to snuggle in to, and all for £5.98 ... I still have 1½ of those balls left too, so you may yet see more crochet.

Finished, pressed and folded

Laid out "shawl like" in the sunshine!

LOVE the 3 French Hens Xmas card . . . just brilliant.

Congrats on your TOP 3 pick too - well deserved.

Great multi-coloured shawl too. Still useful this year as it's a lot colder out there than it looks in the sunshine!

Hugs, Sarn xxx

What fun your French Hens are Kathy and love the way you have coloured them, and the shawl is a beauty and the arrangement of colours looks great. You are obviously a fast worker as for the size you completed it extremely quickly. Congratulations on making the Top 3 over at Always Fun with this cute elf too. x
