Fiesta and Casa De Reyes in Old Town

Family and friends who gathered in La Jolla for my grandmother's 90th birthday spent a few days around her birthday doing fun things together. Old Town, San Diego was one memorable outing. We arrived late afternoon to enjoy an early dinner celebration with her at Casa De Reyes. My husband ordered a Coronarita (a margarita with an upside-down bottle of Corona), which got all of us laughing as we passed it around. It was really good!

Very cool. I did not eat there. it did look like a wonderful place to eat, though,.
Tina, these pictures are absolutely stunning. All the color. Those purple trees! And that drink is HUGE! Everyone looks so happy :D I just love seeing all this.

And P.S. La Jolla was Dr. Seuss's home for decades :)

I didn't realize why he was important there, but now I understand! It was mentioned among a lot of other things. :)
Thanks for all your encouragement! You made my day!
:D
Glad to hear I made you smile :) And yes, he moved there with his first wife after he'd been there for a bit and fell in love with it. I'm a big fan of him and his work and was working on a huge project (several months so far, though it;s on hold again)) that's focuses on the racist nonsense people accused him of so I've learned a LOT about him :)
I am very interested in your project! Please let me know when it's finished and I'll be sure to share about it - even on my blog (if you send me something via email with any links). I've seen a passionate children's book blogger who is against him and his work. I figured even if what she said was true, it was still throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Tina, I know who you're referring to and she's only one. It's way out of hand AND out of line. I can also tell you that everything that's been presented by these advocates against Seuss is wrong, and I say that with great confidence. I'm pretty sure you follow my blog since you comment there. Once I finally get to it, it'll be there :)
