Monday and the start of another week ....

Morning readers,

Welcome to the start of a new week and it's getting nearer to Christmas every day .... you're all going to be surprised to see that today's make actually ISN'T a Christmas card! A dear friend had to have an operation last Thursday and this is the card I sent him once I knew it had gone well - hope he likes it, and I hope it brings a smile to his face during his recovery

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of navy card, cut to mat
  • Art Impressions image and sentiments (from SCO681) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Copic markers used to colour the image

You may also recall that some pals and I challenge ourselves to complete a journal page per week, we've been doing this since JUNE!!! I've managed most weeks but, sadly, not all ... life just gets in the way sometimes. We offer a one word prompt to get us all going and this week's prompt is ... "LIFE"

Materials used:
  • One page of my Crawford and Black journal (£1 from The Works)
  • Liquitex modelling paste applied through a Stamplorations stencil (ARTSL1002 - shutters) using a palette knife and then set aside to dry
  • Medici mixed media shimmer spray in tanzanite spritzed over brusho's in black and lemon .. with a little additional water
  • White gesso applied through a Dylusions circle stencil (using a baby wipe) to knock back the density of the colourSentiments (Stamplorations from the "Discover" set and the "Noteworthy" set) stamped using Versafine onyx black ink, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set
  • Using my WRMK "heatwave" tool and pink foil I added some random swirls and embellishments to my stencilled and brusho'd page
  • Painters Paint Pens in purple and white used to doodle a border and to add a few doodles

Had some friends join us for dinner yesterday so I made dessert, one of my faves. Hubby cooked such a good meal that none of us could eat much dessert so .... YAY! We  have leftovers!

Love the card Kathy the image is great, I bet your friend will love it, Page good to mate, dessert look yummy but not keen on chocolate as everywhere i go anything gluten free seems to be chocolate

What a fun card to cheer someone up recovering from an operation, it certainly made me smile anyway, and love your fabulous journal page. You have been getting better and better with your arty pages and this has lots of wonderful touches, and a great sentiment too. x
