Britannia Bay and a Red Tide

This is my last series of photos taken at Britannia Bay on South Africa's West Coast. I'm sharing a few shots of the same beach taken at different times. I'm also sharing my very first photos of a red tide. It was my first time seeing one and this was at Britannia Bay. A red tide is a common name for harmful algal blooms - when simple plants that live in the sea and freshwater grow out of control.

Red tides are certainly pretty. Too bad they're harmful.
Oh wow the red tide is crazy - I've never heard of that before! Beautiful and dreamy photos xx Maria
Great photos - red tide finally dissipated along Florida's west coast - it was horrible last year killing lots of marine life.
