Finish Robins Nest top - Not done.
Ten Double 9-patch blocks -Done
Two Shipshewana blocks - Done
Four Dear Jane Triangles - Done
Robin's Nest: I have to do the last border. The stars are done, I need to cut some triangles, and applique some hexagon in the open corners of the borders I already finished. This one makes my brain hurt, and it is testing my skills. I needed to take a break on this one. I will probably finish this one at winter retreat.
Dear Jane - These don't look much like triangles yet, as I will trim them when I am ready to start putting together the borders. These are all from the top row. Learning to tolerate paper piecing, as that is the best way to get most of these done.
Double Nine Patch - oyy...these are smaller than 7 inches and time consuming, luckily they are easy. I am doing the nine patches as leaders \ enders project, and as I am working on my other projects, I am cutting my scraps into pieces to use on this. I got 11 done this month.
Temecula Small quilt - This was the kit for January, and I made it according to the instructions, but it doesn't look like the sample picture. I think the squares should have started larger, but I didn't have enough fabric in the kit to cut the squares larger. Oh well, I think I will add a blue border to frame this.
Shipshewana BOM:
School House Quilt - borders on, backing pieced; just need to send this one to the quilter.
This is how we have been spending our weekends - Basketball, cheerleading, and archery tournaments.
I am fighting the crud, and it is winning. I don't get sick often, but when I do, it hits hard! Girl Scout cookie season starts in February, and Jeff goes to China for 10 days. I am taking a machine quilting class through the quilt guild. It will be a busy month, and probably not a lot of time for sewing, so my goals for February will be light.
February Goals:
Two - Shipshewana blocks
Six - Dear Jane triangles
Eight - Double nine patch blocks
Linking up to Ground Hog Day Celtic Solstice update with Bonnie Hunter @ Quiltville.
Great job on your Celtic Solstice quilt, and I really love the School House quilt too, never seen one like that before.
ReplyDeleteCeltic Solstice looks good; your more subdued colour choice also works well.
ReplyDeleteLove the bright blue/turquoise....good job!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy! I love the colors in your Celtic Solstice. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE the colors you chose for your Winter Solstice. Those are "my" kind of colors although I used Bonnie's colors since this was the first time I'd done one of her mysteries and didn't know what to expect. GORGEOUS!!!
