A new CLASS in the Online Card Classroom!

  I was delighted to find out today that there will be a new class coming up very soon in the fabulous Online Card Classroom.  The next class is called "Background Check" and if you are a subscriber to the OCC Newsletter, then I'm sure you may have received your invite today.

    Step up your card making—do a background “check”!
In Online Card Classes’ Background Check, you’ll learn a variety of clever techniques for adding panache to your card backgrounds. You won’t want to send a card out the door without a background again!
Join instructors Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, and Laura Bassen—plus special guest artists—for professional instruction, inspiration, and fun! In class, you’ll gain the skills to achieve gorgeous card backgrounds from blended ink skies to stamped plaids… plus you’ll discover plenty of tips and tricks along the way. New Things....and changes!

   As most of you know I absolutely LOVE to create and have a huge love for Hero Arts and many other products line and groups many of us here LOVE!  And right now I am in the battle of my life to beat Brain and Lung Cancer!
    I have LOVED being on several Design Teams, with a2z Scrapbooking Store being one I adore and have been on the longest.  It was only recently that I took on a new role at a2a as the Assistance DT Coordinator, an honor I was so proud to accept.   However, and sadly, my Cancer Battle has made me realize I can NO longer remain on any  team and WIN my battle and still LOVE cardmaking with a passion.  I wanted so much to do both, but it was not working well and the last thing I need is for my passion and "therapy" to become stressful !
   With all this weighing hard on me and new a health crisis in our family, I made the heartbreaking decision to leave the team, effective immediately!  I will MISS those girls like crazy, but am happy to know that most are here too!  I still WISH the very best to the team and hope some of you will continue to purse a role there!
TO all those who have supported me, sent a note, card or HUG..you are all awesome and I am truly blessed and so luckily to know you!

More new cards!!

These are my latest cards! Starting with these which we created yesterday at STAMP CAMP!!
 This is my favorite, featuring a Penny Black Stamp!   We water-colored this card using Distress Inks and an Aqua Pen!  Love the colors that Kate inspired us with!!

Next are to mini cards we created with die cuts..I later added them to A2 card fronts and made these!!

Next is this one inspired by the current Cas(E) this Sketch Challenge

My card was created using the JUNE Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  Love the Nautical Theme and this sketch was wonderful inspiration!  I am submitting this to the SSS Card Kit blog and also shared all these in my Flickr Gallery and to some of my favorite Flickr Groups!!

Fundraiser for "Little Lauryn"

   Lauryn's family made new shirts!   You can order your own sizes (kids sizes too!) and style--men's, ladies, long sleeve, and hoodies... Also they are shipped directly to your home.

  They  need to sell 50 shirts for the fundraiser campaign to be a success. The deadline is June 19. Let's get shopping for Fight on Little Lauryn!  We love it when we see someone wearing a shirt that supports our daughter . It essentially shows us that they care and are cheering us on. That's the best kind of encouragement!!

  Thank you for caring and sticking with us throughout these grueling and often heart wrenching 14 months.  We still have a couple of years to go, but we will never give up!!

  My Etsy STORE -- ThePurplePlace --is now open and is all about Fundraising!  ALL the products being sold will raise funds for my favorite local Dachshund Rescue! I will be adding more products soon including some fantastic Dog Collars, created by Fold Leather Company! 

  My wonder "Daughter"  Meghan Golden is creating them as I type this and they will be handcrafted from her fabulous Italian leather.   

   They will be available in Black and a rich Dark Brown.  Each collar is 3/4" and the lengths are perfect for a smaller size dog.  We will also offer larger sizes for all dogs and each collar is adjustable a hidden snap close and "brass" look hardware! Hero Arts SCRAMBLE Cards!

    I LOVE to take part in the 90 Minute Scrambles that are hosted over at the Hero Arts Flickr Group.  I was especially excited to play yesterday, as I have missed out on some lately and really was excited to see what Jayne had for us.
   It turned out to be a super fun Scramble and I LOVED the theme she came up with, which was called "Card on Card", which you can see over in the group, HERE!!

Enjoying a creative day...

     Today, is a gorgeous day here in Massachusetts and I'm so happy to be here to share some of my newest cards, all inspired by some of my favorite challenges!           I'm going to start with a card that was created for a NEW Favorite Challenge with the MUSE Christmas inspired challenge, called --  Muse: Christmas -- A Christmas Card Club, which you'll find HERE!

 That bring me to my last card for this post and it's one of my favorites, because it is a "Doggie Card" that was created with one of my newest Cling Stamps from Whipper Snapper Designs, who has the most wonderful selection of Dog/ and Puppy Stamps!   It is NOT the current challenge theme, but you can see more of their adorable cards at this LINK!!

A fabulous trip!

  Our trip has been fantastic.  Tonight is our last night here.   We loved every minute and had so much fun with Brian and Meghan.
 Zeva did great ,but I sure miss Skye and Molly too.   It will be so sweet to see them and all be home tomorrow.   Skye has been wonderful at Arleen's whicmade me feel comfy and happy.
  I have not had much time to be online and will catch up with my DT stuff this week.  I have Chemo on Tuesday and that will be perfect for me to post updates.

Happy June!!! Inviting you to a New Challenge at a2z!!!

  Where does the time go!    It's hard to believe that today is June 3rd!  And that means we have a brand new challenge for you over at the a2z Scrapbooking Blog.     Our theme for June is --  New Beginnings - Think Babies, New Home, New Job...
   I have a little "Sneak Peak", and you'll find my card and all the FULL details over on the a2z Blog!  As you can see I went with a "Baby" theme and used two of the newest sets from Hero Arts.  I hope you'll play along and be sure if you do, that you use at least ONE main Hero Arts goodie on your project!   HAVE FUN!

   Note:   Bye the time this post goes live -- Hubby and I will be ON Vacation in San Diego celebrating our 25th Anniversary and spending some much-needed time with Brian & Meghan.   We will share lots of updates and San Diego news when we are back home!   Waving hi to Mom and Don who are taking care of our house and yard while we are away !   Missing SKYE, but keeping in touch with her through Arleen!   See you all when we get home!!

   

A surprise!!

Just a little NOTE to tell you all we are ADOPTING!   Miss Molly will be joining our family when we return from California.   I met her and FELL in love on Sunday, when we brought SKYE down to Arleen's (her former FosterMom), who is taking care of her while we are away!   They are now having fun getting to know each other!
She is our FIRST Mini Dachshund and I would not be more delighted.  She was "SAVED" from a High Kill Shelter in New York and is somewhere between 8 and 10 years old.  Missing having a Senior in our home, I believe "Scoutie" found her for me and she will help me forever CHERISH him and my love of Seniors!   
Here she is a tiny peanut.....who will be so LOVED !  It will be nice to have three again...!!
