The weekend is almost over and it will be time to go back to work before we know it. I spent yesterday scrapbooking with my friends. It was a joy to have that time with them. I finished a few page layouts and made some cards. One of my co-workers was recently sent to Afghanistan and we are putting together a care package for him. Before he left, I told him that I would send him the cards. He can use them to write his family and friends. Since he is only going to be in the area he is right now for about 3 weeks and then they are moving him to someplace else. We have to get this package in the mail by Thursday. Once he gets settled into his permanent location, I will send him some more to use and share with his unit.
The card that I have made is a new one for me, it is called a Shadow Box Card. The directions can be found at Splitcoast Stampers. I love this site, you can find directions for almost anything you want to make. This is also the featured card over at Stampin' Dymonz Scrap Shack, where I am a moderator for the Card Making Group. Please, stop by for a visit, there is always something different going on. I decided to make this a Father's Day card because it is next week and there are lots of challenges going on for male cards this week. The thing that I liked about this card is that all of the paper is from my scrap file and it was so easy to make. I did not have to do any coloring on this one.
The clock stamp is from Michaels $1 bin, the sentiment were typed on the computer, the celebrate was stamped from a clear set of stamps. The star embellishments were leftover from another project. The small gold tiles are from my stash.
