Hey There! Today’s video shows you how to highlight background sentiments using a white gel pen. I will be using a new stamp set from Kraftin’ Kimmie called Christmas Cheer Sentiments. This stamp set has a ton of great Christmas sentiments to use on all of your holiday cards.
I always say just how much I love kraft card stock, today is just another awesome example!
To make the card quick, I added all of the sentiments onto a large acrylic block and stamped them down onto some kraft card stock with Sparrow ink. I used a white gel pen on all of the down strokes of the letters to add some depth to the dark sentiments.
By no means does this have to be perfect, I actually love the grunge effect that it gives when it is has a couple of imperfections. I heat embossed my main sentiment on a circle die cut and added some Lawn Fawn twine.
Enjoy the video!

This is a really cool card, and I love the way you highlighted the script!
Don’t fret about the videos, Simon…school and other things come first! We’ll be here waiting.
Thanks for sharing.
THAT is so cool Simon. I love how well it shows up on the kraft! TFS!
Thank you, Simon, for a fun card project, and for the idea of highlighting text/sentiments with some white or even other colored inks. Your idea really draws one’s attention to the various sentiments on the card. How lovely to have more than just one on a card!
Dear Simon you might also try stamping the background in white first then stamp the entire background stamp in the black just slightly offsetting it to leave the white highlights. Try it and see what you think:) I love your cards. You are very talented.
Another great card Simon! Don’t stress about the videos these things happen some times. I just really enjoy seeing your work ☺️ tfs!
