Feminine Glam Pink Home Office Makeover

Well…it's hard to believe that it's week 6 of the One Room Challenge already…the big reveal day!

And despite my setbacks (my cabinet knobs and the area rug didn't arrive until today…talk about cutting it close!), I was actually able to finish my room (well mostly finish…more on that later).

The office before
The office before

In case you forgot, this is what I started with.

Feminine Glam Home Office Mood Board

I had a bunch of requirements.

But most of them were around needing more storage and a bigger work area.

The paint

The paint is Middleton Pink from Farrow and Ball.

I love the way it looks different during the day than it does at night.

Lots of storage

I finished my built-in cabinets and shelves. (Read our DIY built-in bookshelf tutorial for more details).

They provide tons of storage as well as display space.

The base cabinet with the drawers on the right hand side is from the Martha Stewart Living Craft Storage collection (no longer available).

The window seat with my inspiration fabric

There's a place to sit and look out the window (which the cats love!)

And it uses my inspiration fabric for the curtains and and bench seat.

The desk

Then there's my new awesome desk and an antique chair that both came from One King's Lane.

Here's the same chair with a faux fur cushion that my mother sewed for me.

The seating area

Fuchsia chairs and a white and gold cowhide rug in a pink home office

And a seating area with a pop of color.

I love these velvet fuchsia chairs (no longer available), the spherical lamp and the gold-spattered cowhide rug.

Accessories

Pink flowers on the desk in a pink home office makeover

The gold mirror, Andy Warhol print and faux peonies add a little flair to the room.

As I've said before…I know a lot of people prefer live plants and flowers, but my green thumb seems to stop at the front door…so I'd rather have good looking fake flowers than real dead ones!

Panel moldings in a pink home office

Chinese symbols give me some inspiration, and I love the blue and white foot bath.

The work table

At the other end of the room, my work area has more storage and I was able to re-use my drafting table…lots of work area!

The work chair and lamp make the space functional and stylish at the same time.

Bathroom cabinet made into electronics storage in a pink home office

I was able to update an old bathroom cabinet with black lacquer paint…it stores (and hides) all of my internet electronics perfectly!

Read about how to hide your router for more information.

The view of the stairway

And it all goes very well with my stairwell.

Feminine and glam pink home office

Overall, the room is bright, pretty and glam…my favorite kind of room!
