Welcome to the first week in October!!!

Morning all

Well, that was September then!!! Not sure what happened but it seemed to pass in the flashiest of flashes and now here we are in October .. next thing you know it will be Halloween, then Thanksgiving then Christmas - CRIKEY!

My regular visitors will probably be pleased to see that today's make is NOT a Christmas card! Been on a bit of a roll with them! A pal was setting a challenge on a private blog and came up with a fall themed challenge and here's my make for it ....

My card with it's leaves "blowing in the wind"!
The front and back of my card and the front of my envelope
The reverse of my envelope and the inside of my card
Materials used:
  • 10cm square, white, 250gsm card blank and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card, one cut to 9cm square and the other to 9½cm square
  • Two pieces of chocolate brown card - for matting with a 1.6mm border
  • Piece of copier paper with a die cut circle ... to use as a mask
  • Distress Inks: fossilised amber, carved pumpkin, candied apple and vintage photo applied to masked area using a Tim Holtz mini blender, spritzed with water and then blotted with a paper towel
  • Petaluma large (wood mounted) maple image stamped using Ranger Archival sepia ink
  • Petaluma small (also wood mounted - I don't tend to use wood mounted so much these days, not quite sure why but ...) maple image stamped using Ranger Archival sepia and Memento rich cocoa inks
  • PaperMania sentiment stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Crafters Companion sprayed over the image panel in order to seal, protect and give a nice sheen to the water based inks

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:
  1. DRS Designs - October 1st challenge - AUTUMN SPLENDOUR
  2. CardzforGalz - challenge No. 32 - FALL/AUTUMN COLOURS
  3. Craftbubble2½ (membership required) - Quarterly challenge - AUTUMNAL COLOURS + SENTIMENT
  4. Stamping Sensations - October challenge - AUTUMN
  5. Amusing challenges - October challenge - FALL COLOURS
Well, there was hubby cutting the grass yesterday and making the most of the October sunshine ... when he stopped suddenly. I nipped out to find out what was going on - sort of expecting company had arrived to stop his labours but  ... it wasn't the kind of company I'd been expecting - awwwww

Froggy in the shade
Froggy in the sun
Froggy making his escape!!! Admittedly, not the best frog shot ever but .....

This is so lovely, Kathy. I thought this card captured such a good feeling of Fall. Fall is in the sir over here, the last couple of days. I have finally turned on my furnace!
