Olive and Let Die by Susannah Hardy is the second book of the Greek to Me cozy mystery series set in contemporary upstate New York. Georgie Nikolopatos manages and lives in Bonaparte House, a historic landmark and Greek restaurant. She's soon to be divorced from her gay husband Spiro, who has started a new business with his lover Inky (they're all friends). Her romance with Captain Jack Conway has just begun. She loves her mother-in-law Sophie, who plans to retire to Greece.

It's a shock when Georgie's biological mother Shirley (aka Melanie) appears out of the blue, after abandoning Georgie decades ago to pursue a movie career. Georgie is very suspicious of her mother's sudden appearance, especially when she finds out recent murder victim Doreen is her cousin. Why did Melanie visit Doreen? Georgie has to investigate family history secrets to learn the truth, and clear her friend Inky of suspicion. Of course, money is the motive. But all is not as it appears at first.

An interesting and well-paced story with moderate suspense and a few surprises. Read the series in order for best enjoyment. Recipes: Gladys's Banana Bread, Keftedes, Tzatziki, Greek Lemon Rice.
