Celebrate Card, using Sue Wilson Dies and Ribbon Flowers

Lovin’ Sue’s New October Collection! Especially the fabulous layered Carnations die set!! These layer so beautifully! For this “Celebrate” Card, I’ve cut the carnations out of Coconut White Card-stock, and wide holiday ribbons in golds & laced burlap. (This is a good idea for using-up those giant rolls of Christmas ribbons!) I then placed a golden brad through these flower centers to hold together. I’ve added adhesive pearls over the brads holding the flowers together & the background panel as the finishing touches. The ribbon is also behind the background panel and pierced flags to continue the look throughout.

Some Tips on creating Flowers from Ribbons...
I've used a new Sue Wilson layered Carnations die set here but this will likely work with most flower dies. For these Carnations, I’ve die-cut out of Coconut White Card-stock, and again from Wider holiday ribbons in golds & laced burlap. (This is a good idea for using-up those giant rolls of Christmas ribbons we all have!) I then placed a flat golden brad through the flower centers to hold together. I’ve pinched and scrunched the flowers for the dimensional look. I did not spritz but you could to make it easier to mold into shape. Hair spray works great to hold the flower in its final shape too! Hope you give this idea a go!
