Kylie's Demonstrator Training Monthly Blog Hop - Gift Card Holder (November 2019)

Thank you so much for hopping along with this amazing group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from Around The WORLD!  There are so many talented demos on this hop so please be sure to continue hopping after you view my page.

Hello! So glad you have stopped by today.  I thought I would share a gift card holder and holiday card all wrapped into one.  Of course, you could easily change up the theme and use this same layout and design for all sorts of occasions (piece of cake stamp set and punch comes to mind). It's once you open it that you will find the gift card pocket.

Here is a look at my design as you would see it when you first pull it out of the envelope.  It looks like any other card except for it only has 1/2 of a card front.

This design does only allow for 1/2 as much writing space but if you are anything like my husband, the less room to write the better!! lol!

I am always looking for ways to use non seasonal items in my seasonal cards.  Why you might ask?  Well first it allows me more options when I'm picking out paper, ribbon or embellishments, but more importantly, it allows my customers more options when they don't have as many holiday items as I do. It shows them ways they might take non holiday patterns and pair them with a holiday image for a really great end result.

I loved this Come To Gather Designer Series Paper even though I purchased no fall stamp sets and really don't make autumn themed cards. Quite honestly, these paper ended up on this card as a happy accident.  I had planned to use a holiday DPS so cut and scored my Merry Merlot cardstock with that in mind but when it came time to measure out the DSP, I wasn't going to have enough for both my card and the cards I needed to prep for my technique club. So I had to find new DSP and it had to have Merry Merlot in it. I also love how I could use the Mint Macaron 1/4" textile ribbon from the annual catalogue.

Measurements for this card:
1. Cut 4.25 x 11"
2. Score at 2.5" and 5.5" (on the long side)

3. From the centre of the top edge of the 2.5" section, Punch half of a 1" circle (this allows you to slide the gift card in and out easily)
4. Use Tear and Tape down the sides only of the 2.5" section to adhere to the card and make the pocket for the gift card.
5. DSP measures 4 x 2.75", Whisper White (lines inside of card) measures 4 x 5.25"
6. Find a sentiment which is small enough to show on the 2.25" of liner that is showing
