November 2019 - Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for November! We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all over the world sharing our love of stamping. We are all part of Kylie Bertucci’s training group where we are having a great time learning and growing our Stampin’ Up!® businesses. If this is the first time you are visiting my blog, welcome! My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in the United States. I’m so glad you stopped by today!

You may be starting here or have arrived from another blog - either way, you can find the link list of all of the participants at the bottom of this post. Happy Hopping!
My card today features the Frosted Foliage Stamp Set and the coordinating Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog. I just love this paper! One side features patterns with silver foil details and the other side features beautiful photographic images of snowy scenery.

I especially love the colors in this DSP which features a mixture of different purples, pinks, blues and gray. For my card, I went with the blues with a little pop of silver to add to the "wintery feel" of the card. I’ve listed all of the supplies and measurements below.

Color Combo:
When you have paper this beautiful, it’s easy to make it the focal point of your card. Cards don’t need  to have a lot of stamping and  “bells and whistles” to be gorgeous. As a matter of fact, the only stamping on this card is the sentiment and the inside. Easy peasy, right?

To add some texture to the background, I used the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder. I think it adds a nice little detail without being too distracting. Looking at it now, I do believe my frame is ever so slightly “off center” and now you probably see it too. Haha! Oh well, it’s handmade and it just adds to the charm, right?
For some added dimension, I popped up the silver foil frame by cutting some Stampin’ Dimensionals into thirds and evenly adding them behind the frame. I feel like every card needs ribbon and some kind of embellishment to be “finished”. For this card, I simply decided to add a little bow to accent the corner of the frame using the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon. The finishing touch was a trio of little rhinestones, because if you know me, you know I love my sparkle!

Card Measurements:
  • Night of Navy Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Seaside Spray Cardstock (embossed with Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder) - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Silver Foil - 3” x 4-3/8”, die cut in center using 2-5/8” x 4” Stitched Rectangle Die
  • Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP - 2-7/8” x 4-1/2”
  • Whisper White Cardstock (for sentiment, one end punched with Banner Triple Punch) 2-3/4” x 1”
Finally, a look at the inside of the card using a simple sentiment and two stamped images from the Frosted Foliage stamp set. I love that this card isn’t for any particular holiday, just a nice way to let someone know you are thinking of them. I think we all would enjoy receiving more cards like that in our mailbox, don’t you?
