Demonstrator Training Blog Hop - August 2020

Hello, and welcome to my August Demonstrator Training Blog Hop, if you’ve reached me from another blog, I’m Dianne (The Purple Rose Stamper) from the UK.  I hope you enjoy my blog and then please do hop along to the next one on this list.

I realised my blog has been ‘flower’ heavy for a few months so thought I would make male cards today and I seem to have themed my cards nautically triangular.

My first card features the lighthouse from Sailing Home.

Using the Stamparatus I placed the lighthouse image and the sentiment from A Wish for Everything stamp set, to the left side of the lighthouse.  I applied versamark to all stamps then, without removing the lighthouse I then placed the sentiments to the right side of the light house, again applied versamark to all stamps, then sprinkled with white embossing powder and heated.  I was hoping that the sentiments either side of the lighthouse would look like the beams from a lighthouse at night.  Adding the Misty Moonlight/Silver Bakers twine at the bottom of the image I layered it onto DSP from In Good Taste using dimensionals and then mounted it onto a Night of Navy card.

My second card features the Stitched Triangle dies.

This card is very straight forward.  I started by using the Stacked Stone stamp set and inking the background in Smoky Slate onto Whisper White cardstock.  The sentiments come from A Wish for Everything stamp set and were inked with Smokey Slate.  The card base is Smoky Slate and Night of Navy for the pennants.

My final card this month features the yachts from Sailing Home.

I realised the yachts would fit perfectly into the Stitched Triangle dies.  I started by stamping one large yacht in Night of Navy and 2 smaller yachts, one in Real Red and the other with Garden Green then die cut them in the corresponding sized triangular dies.  Using the ‘Happy’ and the ‘Birthday’ from A Wish For Everything set I stamped the sentiments in Real Red and Garden Green.

To make a rectangle the size that was needed for the sentiment, I placed the smallest die from Stitched Rectangle Framelits to the left of ‘happy’ and die cut. To cut away the excess of the rectangle I then placed the left side of the Stitched Rectangle die to the right of the ‘Birthday’ and die cut making the rectangle fit perfectly for the sentiment.

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock layered with DSP from In Good Taste followed by another layer of Night of Navy.  I glued the large yacht in the middle of the card and raised the remaining 2 triangles using dimensionals.  Having sailed once many years ago on a sail training ship for a couple of weeks hopefully my memory of port and starboard means my placement is correct on this card which was the influence on where I placed 2 smaller triangles.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my cards this month and please do hop along to the next Demonstrator on the list to see all the wonderful creations.
